EQ Memories Event Social App
I was tasked with designing an event social app for attendees to post their event photos on and communicate with other attendees.
PROJECT GOALS
Facilitate Photo Sharing: Enable users to easily upload and share photos from events.
Enhance Social Interaction: Provide features that encourage interaction and communication between attendees.
Create Community Engagement: Foster a sense of community among event participants through shared experiences and interests.
Ensure User-Friendly Design: Design an app that is intuitive and easy to navigate for users of all ages and technical abilities.
Promote Event Discovery: Help users discover other events and experiences they might be interested in.
RESEARCH AND DISCOVERY
The design process began with thorough user research to understand the behaviors, preferences, and pain points of event attendees. Methods included:
Interviews and Surveys: Conducted with event-goers to identify their needs and expectations for a social media app.
Persona Development: Created detailed user personas to represent different types of event attendees and their motivations.
Contextual Inquiry: Observed users at events to gain insights into their social media usage patterns and interactions.
KEY FINDINGS
High Photo Engagement: Attendees often take and share photos to capture and relive event moments.
Desire for Connection: Users expressed a strong desire to connect with like-minded individuals and discuss event experiences.
Fragmented Experiences: Attendees currently use multiple platforms to share photos and communicate, leading to a fragmented experience.
Event Discoverability: Users wanted better ways to discover and explore other events of interest.
WIREFRAMING AND PROTOTYPING
I created wireframes and prototypes to visualize the app’s interface and user flows. Key considerations included:
Intuitive Navigation: Designed a simple and intuitive navigation structure to ensure users could easily access key features.
Visual Appeal: Focused on a clean and modern visual design to enhance the user experience.
